ABSTRACT

Objective:To investigate the application of scenario simulation teaching rounds in the residency training of teachers. Methods:A total of 56 faculty members in the surgical system were divided into the traditional method group and the scenario simulation group. The traditional method group adopted the training including multimedia centralized training, live rounds demonstration and observation, discussion and summary, while the scenario simulation group adopted the training including multimedia centralized training, scenario simulation demonstration and observation followed by step-by-step discussion and demonstration, review and summary. After the training, the training satisfaction questionnaires of the participants were collected. The participants were evaluated for teaching rounds before and after the training. The data were analyzed using Graphpad prism 7.Results:There were no significant differences between the two groups in terms of professional title, teaching years and gender ( P > 0.05). The average scores of teaching rounds before and after training in the scenario simulation group were (80.17±0.99) and (87.38±0.52). The average scores of teaching rounds before and after training in the traditional method group were (78.27±0.82) and (83.24±0.53). The teaching ability had improved after the teacher training in both groups, while the scenario simulation group performed significantly better than the traditional method group ( P < 0.05). The questionnaire survey showed that the satisfaction and training effect of the scenario simulation group were much higher than those of the traditional method group, and the difference was statistically significant ( P < 0.05). Conclusion:The scenario simulation teaching rounds training significantly improves the competency of teaching rounds of residential training teachers, as well as the scenario simulation capabilities of demonstration teachers and volunteers, which makes it worthy of further promotion in order to have a better performance on standardized residency training.

ABSTRACT

Objective:To explore the application effect of problem-based learning (PBL) combined with WeChat assisted teaching pattern in teaching rounds of encephalopathy department. Methods:Undergraduate interns of Batch 2018 from the encephalopathy department were enrolled in the study. The observation group ( n=36) was taught by PBL combined with WeChat teaching mode. The control group ( n=36) was taught by the conventional teaching mode. At the end of rotation, the scores of theoretical and practical skills tests of the two groups were compared, and at the same time, the results of the survey were compared according to the questionnaire. SPSS 19.0 was used for statistical analysis of the data. Results:The test scores of the observation group were significantly higher than those of the control group ( P<0.05). The recognition in nine aspects of the observation group was also significantly higher than that of the control group, such as the interaction with the teaching teachers, the effect of improving clinical learning interest and the ability of inspiring thinking and innovation ( P<0.05). There was no significant difference in recognition about improving the efficiency of clinical teaching rounds between two groups ( P>0.05). Conclusion:PBL combined with WeChat teaching rounds model has certain advantages over traditional rounds in TCM clinical teaching, which are mainly manifested in the mastery of clinical knowledge, the communication ability of interns, the ability of interaction and cooperation, the ability of innovation and thinking, and the improvement of learning initiative.

ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate the application value of case-based learning (CBL) combined with teaching rounds in the standardized training of residents in department of hematology. Methods A total of 124 residents who received standardized training in department of hematology from August 2015 to July 2018 were selected and randomly divided into experimental group and control group. The residents in the experimental group received the teaching method of CBL combined with teaching rounds, while those in the control group received traditional teaching rounds. The two groups were compared in terms of department examination scores and teaching quality. Results Compared with the control group, the experimental group had significantly higher scores of the department examinations of hematological theoretical knowledge and case analysis (P<0.05). The residents in the experimental group thought that the new teaching method of CBL combined with teaching rounds could stimulate their interest in learning hematological diseases, improve self-study abilities , help them to combine theoretical knowledge with clinical practice , enhance their knowledge of hematological diseases, and cultivate their clinical thinking ability. Conclusion CBL combined with teaching rounds has achieved good results in standardized training of residents in department of hematology, and thus it holds promise for application in standardized training of other specialties in internal medicine.

ABSTRACT

Clinical teaching round is one of main teaching methods during standardized training for residents. However, the particularity of standardized resident training in clinical anesthesia determines that it is difficult to apply the teaching round model of other disciplines. In this study, seven core contents of Mini-Clinical Evaluation Exercise (Mini-CEX) were modified after considering the characteristics of anesthesia specialty and applied to the teaching rounds of standardized training for residents of anesthesia , thus promoting the standardization and improving the quality of anesthesia teaching rounds.

ABSTRACT

Objective To explore the application effect of the adult education theory in the nursing round. Methods 340 trainee nurses, who were trained at our surgical department between June 2008 and December 2009, were randomly divided into the experimental group(178 cases)and the control group(162cases). The adult education theory was adopted in the experimental group, whereas the traditional education method was used in the control group, a questionnaire was carried out after the nursing visit. Results The experimental group was more satisfied with the round visit than the control group. Conclusions The application of the adult education theory in the round visit is beneficial not only to the students' selection of the topics of nursing visit, but also to the improvement of the students' understanding and communicating capacity, the students' studying interests and the students' creative thinking, finally the degree of satisfaction to the round visit is increased by the adoption of this theory.
